Unbeknownst to the common Florida resident, or tourist, sewage spills are a daily occurrence with a yearly toll of millions of gallons polluting waterways, land areas, and coastlines. Since 2009, there have been over 23,000 reports of sewage spills to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. In the last 4 years, that number is nearing 6,500 reports.
